Tea Machine, 2019

Tea Machine is an interactive sculpture responding to Plymouth’s famous Cap’n Jaspers, a diner originally founded for Fisherman, which continues today bringing people together. The machine stirs a cup of tea with a metre long spoon through the rotation of a crank within a 16 cog contraption. The work is an example of playful and imaginative invention aimed to catch the attention of passer-byers and create a meeting space for a cup of tea and conversation.
